Colleges below are ordered using a mix of NIRF ranking (where available), typical COMEDK CSE closing rank (a proxy for how competitive/sought-after a college is), placement track record, and annual fee. We’ve used the most recent officially confirmed data — mostly COMEDK 2025 Round 1 closing ranks, since 2026 closing ranks are only published after counselling concludes in July–August. 1. RV College of Engineering (RVCE)
Bangalore’s most consistently top-ranked private engineering college under COMEDK. CSE and ISE cutoffs are the tightest in the state, realistically you need a COMEDK rank inside the low hundreds for CSE. Strong recruiter base across core tech, product, and consulting roles.
2. MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT)
NIRF-ranked and widely seen as the second pillar of Bangalore’s “Big Three,” alongside RVCE and BMSCE. Known for active industry-funded labs and a fast-refreshed curriculum. A rank in the low thousands keeps CSE realistically in play. See our MSRIT direct admission guide.
3. BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE)
One of Karnataka’s oldest engineering colleges, with a deep and unusually active alumni network. Slightly more accessible cutoffs than RVCE/MSRIT for CSE, and strong outcomes in ECE and Information Science too.
4. PES University
Known for a modern, project-heavy teaching style and a strong startup/entrepreneurship culture. Note: PES largely admits through its own PESSAT exam for many seats, COMEDK-quota seats exist but are limited, so confirm seat availability before counting on a COMEDK-only path in.
5. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE)
A solid mid-tier option once RVCE/MSRIT/BMSCE CSE are out of reach on rank. Reasonable fees, decent recruiter pull in ISE and Mechanical.
6. Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT)

Government-aided, comparatively low fees, and a well-regarded name for students whose rank sits in the 8,000–12,000 range.
8. BMS Institute of Technology & Management (BMSIT)
Distinct from BMSCE, a separate, newer institution with more accessible cutoffs and lower fees, useful for CSE/ISE aspirants outside the top-tier rank bands.
9. Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT)
Popular for AI & Data Science and CSE among students with ranks in the 4,500–7,500 range; growing recruiter interest in recent years.

Can I get a good college without clearing a high COMEDK rank?
Yes. Every college on this list, including RVCE and MSRIT, reserves a share of seats as management quota / institute-level seats, allotted directly by the college rather than through the COMEDK merit rank list. Is COMEDK the same as KCET?
No. KCET fills the Karnataka-domicile state quota (lower fees, ~85% of seats), while COMEDK UGET fills the remaining private-quota seats open to candidates from anywhere in India (higher fees). Many students appear for both.
